8 September 2026, Medan — The IMT-GT Business Matching 2026 was held in Medan, Indonesia, bringing together 305 businesses from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand to explore new trade and investment opportunities across the subregion.
Held in conjunction with the 32nd IMT-GT Ministerial Meeting, the event featured sectoral business matching sessions, providing a platform for businesses to connect, exchange insights, and explore potential partnerships across key sectors, including agriculture and fisheries, manufacturing and industry, tourism, logistics, and supply chain management.
The event resulted in three institutional Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), with eight trade contracts and investment MoUs set to follow, marking progress in translating business connections into concrete commercial partnerships across the subregion.
The Business Matching also highlighted the important role of the private sector in strengthening cross-border trade and investment, supporting deeper economic integration and shared growth among the three IMT-GT Member Countries.
